Our Kind Of Traitor

A John le Carré spy thriller and a highly unusual documentary are featured in our next Weekend Film Series on Sunday July 17.

Ewan McGregor and Naomie Harris star in Our Kind of Traitor (3pm), adapted from the acclaimed le Carré novel. While on holiday in Marrakech, Perry (McGregor) and Gail (Harris) befriend a flamboyant and charismatic Russian, Dima (Stellan Skarsgard) who unbeknownst to them is a kingpin money launderer for the Russian mafia and drags them into in a world of international espionage and dangerous politics.

Tickled (5.15pm) follows journalist David Farrier investigating what at first seems a light-hearted story about a bizarre  “competitive endurance tickling” video online, wherein young men are paid to be tied up and tickled. But after he receives a hostile response from the company, Farrier and co-director Dylan Reeve dig deeper to get to the bottom of a story that turns out to be far stranger than fiction.

Both films will screen in the Tradewinds Auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

You can purchase Weekend Film Series tickets ($15) by calling 294-0204, or by visiting the Oceans Gift Shop at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
