Champagne and music legend Brian Wilson make for a truly sparkling lineup for our next Weekend Film Series on Sunday, July 19, sponsored by Gosling’s.
In the fascinating documentary A Year In Champagne (3:00 p.m.), wine importer Martine Saunier provides a rare glimpse behind the scenes in the Champagne region of France through six houses, from small independent makers like Champagne Saint-Chamant, where each and every bottle is still turned by hand in the cellars, to the illustrious houses of Gosset and Bollinger.
Our second film stars John Cusack, Paul Dano, Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti in Love & Mercy (5:15 p.m.), a warm portrait of Brian Wilson, the mercurial singer, songwriter and leader of The Beach Boys. Set against the era-defining catalogue of Wilson’s music, the film intimately examines the personal voyage of the icon whose success came at extraordinary personal cost.
Both films will screen in the Tradewinds Auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
