The Crew behind the hits

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys is among the stars featured in The Wrecking Crew.

What the Funk Brothers did for Motown, the Los Angeles studio musicians known as The Wrecking Crew did, only bigger, for the West Coast Sound in the 1960s and 1970s. The story of the unsung musicians, who provided the backing for classic hits like “California Girls”, “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin'” and “Mr. Tambourine Man”, is told in The Wrecking Crew, a joyous documentary that screens at our next Weekend Film Series, on Sunday, April 19 (3 p.m.).

Meanwhile French screen legend Catherine Deneuve and her daughter Chiara Mastroianni star in 3 Hearts, a touching and tense drama about destiny, connections, and passion. This romantic look at the classic love triangle will screen at 5.15 p.m.

Both films will screen in the Tradewinds Auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
