Another chance to see Chasing Ice

Chasing Ice, a stunningly beautiful documentary about climate change, was a sell-out at the April 2012 Bermuda Documentary Film Festival and such has been the demand to see it again that we’ve brought it back for a second screening at the next Weekend Film Series on February 17.

The winner of 23 festival awards, Jeff Orlowski’s film follows National Geographic photographer James Balog – once a climate-change skeptic – as he brings to life the Extreme Ice Survey (EIS), a massive photography project utilising 30 cameras across three continents to gather visual evidence of the Earth’s melting glaciers.

Also showing on February 17 is Barbara, a Cold War thriller by  Christian Petzold (Yella, Jerichow). Winner of the Best Director prize at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival, the film was Germany’s official Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film.

The Weekend Film Series will be screened at the Tradewinds Auditorium at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Tickets are $15, and available from the Oceans Gift Shop at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, or by calling 297-7314.
