Two top award winners on screen

Two international award-winning films feature in our next Weekend Film Series on Sunday, November 20.

The People vs. Fritz Bauer (3pm) swept the German Film Awards, including the prize for Best Feature, while Cameraperson (5.15pm) has collected numerous documentary awards in the US and Canada.

Set in Germany in 1957, The People vs. Fritz Bauer is a powerful and gripping portrait of courageous German Attorney General Fritz Bauer and his battle to bring Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann to justice.

Cameraperson weaves a tapestry of footage from the 25-year career of documentary cinematographer Kirsten Johnson. Johnson explores the relationships between image makers and their subjects, the tension between the objectivity and intervention of the camera, and the complex interaction of unfiltered reality and crafted narrative.

Both films will screen in the Tradewinds Auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

You can purchase Weekend Film Series tickets ($15) by calling 294-0204, or by visiting the Oceans Gift Shop at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
